#LiteraryCocktail Poetry
Reed composed this poem in honor of his custom cocktail, What You Drink (based on his recent novel, What You Break)
I've seen the best minds of my generation
Building cocktails on Negro streets,
Sweet vermouth and hop, bebop, scotch.
I grow old, I grow old, I drink Cherry Heering,
Orange juice and wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.
Add ice, add ice, ignore
My words but take my advice
Strain it. Take an orange peel
And be revealed.
After I drink it, wash me out of
The ball turret with a hose.

Past open mic reader and featured author Alice Kaltman takes a seventh-paragraph stretch. Guests searched for the afikomen and Easter eggs. The eggs were found at the bar and high up on a speaker.
